Astrix™ 100mg 84 Capsules
Description
Astrix is a low dose form of aspirin that is designed to prevent blood platelets from sticking together and to help reduce the chance of a blood clot forming. These blood clots could block an artery and therefore reduce or stop blood flow. Astrix helps to keep your blood flowing freely and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with known cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease.
Each capsule contains 100mg of Aspirin in the form of enteric coated pellets. The coating of these specially designed pellets allows the aspirin to release slowly in the intestine helping reduce the risk of stomach irritation.
Directions for best results
Your doctor or pharmacist will tell you how many capsules you will need to take each day. However, the most common dose is one Astrix 100 mg capsule once daily with food. Set aside a regular time to take Astrix capsules, preferably with a meal so you remember. Each Astrix capsule should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water.
Astrix capsules are packed in a calendar pack for your convenience. Take one capsule on the corresponding day of the week and follow the arrows around the platform until all capsules are taken. Follow all directions given to you by your doctor or pharmacist carefully.
Astrix capsules may be used to prevent or protect against heart disease or stroke and should only be taken under a doctor's supervision. Astrix is usually taken for a long period of time. Please visit your doctor on a regular basis to monitor your condition.
